The competency development programs of RILS focus on building future leaders for the life sciences domain, by developing in them competencies that cater to life sciences and allied areas. These programs are customized to the needs of industry and are funded by industries for their own employees.

These programs typically comprise three months of rigorous classroom training, followed by nine months of hands on / field training. During the training program, candidates are assessed for their learning and performing abilities using various methods.

RILS has been conducting a series of competency development programs under the umbrella of Young Professionals' Program. These include:

Young Engineers' Program (YEP)

The YEP focuses on building competency for designing, engineering, implementation, installation, commissioning and validation of a highly automated biopharmaceuticals manufacturing plant, compliant with the regulations of Indian FDA, USFDA and EMEA.

Young Clinical Professionals' Program (YCPP)

The YCPP has been developed with the objective of developing competency for Reliance Clinical Research Services (RCRS). This program focuses on training participants in various aspects of clinical research, clinical trial, bio-equivalence and bioavailability studies and regulatory affairs.

Young Manufacturing Professionals' Program (YMPP)

The YMPP aims at developing competency in the field of biologics (natural and recombinant) manufacturing, following current good manufacturing practices.

Young Quality Management Professionals' Program (YQMPP)

This program aims to develop competency in quality control and quality assurance. It trains participants on various laboratory practices (pertaining to quality control in biologics and cell therapy products), regulatory practices (pertaining to quality assurance for biologics and cell therapy products) and manufacturing facilities.

Young Scientists' Program (YSP)

The YSP focuses on building competency in the field of fundamental and applied research in science and technology, pertinent to RLS's research areas. The program thoroughly trains participants on basic fundamentals of biological sciences and good laboratory practices.

Young Medico-Marketing Professionals' Program (YMMPP)

This program has been designed to build competencies required by business development functions in RLS. It imparts advanced training in sales and marketing of a knowledge-based product portfolio. Young Agri-Professionals Program (YAPP)

This program has been designed with the objective to develop competency in the field of agriculture and good farming practices. The professionals are trained in the latest techniques in soil analysis, high yielding farm practices, and in rural management.

Young Laboratory Technicians Program (YLTP)

This program aims to develop competency in the field of molecular diagnostics and genetics services. This is a highly laboratory skill development oriented program where 'hands on' training is imparted on high end diagnostics tests.

Young Development Professionals' Program (YDPP)

The aim of this program is to build competency on rural extension through hands-on training in villages. The training includes principles of farm advocacy, rural cooperative, mixed farming, rural economy, sustainable development and a plethora of rural development oriented topics.
